Norwood Public Schools – Extended Day Program

These Northern Lights paintings are absolutely stunning! K2 learned about the Northern Lights and how they happen. We read the book “Northern Lights”. Students then used liquid watercolors mixed with salt to create their own Northern Lights painting.

Comparing Oxygen and Carbon Dioxide

A late addition: second and third grade experimented with baking soda and vinegar to capture the gas released in an attached balloon. They then tossed an oxygen filled ballon in the air with the experiment … Ещё byproduct and compared density (how fast the balloons fell next to one another). The ballon with greater volume of carbon dioxide (gas from baking soda and vinegar) fell faster. O2 is less dense than CO2—due to the extra Carbon atom. Guacamole. That is a lot for a Friday afternoon! Well done, 2/3!
